PICNIC
Questions around the improvement of quality of life and habitation in Bucharest through design of public spaces (in particular of green spaces) were at the heart of the design workshop at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism (UAUIM). This inter-disciplinary co-operation resulted in four creative and functional design proposals, each taking into account the various surroundings and differing needs of the selected locations within Bucharest.Bucharest 27. May - 2. June 2012
Working in small mixed groups, students of architecture from UAUIM, together with students of landscape architecture from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine and students of interior design from Politecnico di Milano, analysed various city districts and subsequently planned and developed innovative picnic sites.
The groups’ proposals were subsequently submitted to the design competition “Picnic Design 2012 – Competition of Architecture and Landscape Architecture“.
